Hi there! Are you confused about diabetes and what it does and doesn't mean for you?
If so, you're in the right place. My name's Lori and I have lived with diabetes since I was two years old. As a young teenager, I discovered some fantastic diabetes kids camps where I learned how to do ‘normal things’ with diabetes, eat all the foods I wanted to eat, and do all the things my ‘normal’ friends at school were doing.
I also realised that I wasn’t alone and today I want to let you know that you're not alone. There are thousands of Australians suffering diabetes AND there are also simple ways that to help you get back in control of your life.
Before I understood diabetes well, it would often get me down. It sometimes just seemed all too hard. I felt that diabetes was so frustrating and difficult to manage that it often felt like it was controlling my life.
But once I understood diabetes well, I realised that it doesn’t have to be difficult. It can still get me down a little sometimes (the worst thing about diabetes is that it is 24/7, you never get a break from it!), but from my knowledge and extensive life experience and professional experience, I have found ways to simplify it and make it easy to manage.
That is simply what I want to share with you. I want to share with you the most important bits of knowledge I’ve collected over the years, and share my strategies of making life with diabetes easy and non-restrictive. I have a passion for teaching and helping people understand diabetes. I am confident that Diabetes Made Easy will make a big difference to your life.
